1. Understand advanced concepts in applying cyber-security principles to network operations, including network security methodologies, methods for assessing and mitigating risk, security standards and log file analysis techniques.
2. Explain the application of cyber-security techniques to the operation of computer networks and explain associated theories, including any limitations.
3. Develop skills and master tools for securing computer networks and select appropriate strategies to solve problems in securing computer networks.
4. Operate computer networks securely, diagnose and solve cybersecurity issues independently or as part of a team, and understand the broader social, political, and business contexts and the need for high ethical and professional standards.

Requirements: This course is ideal for ICT professionals or graduates with an honours degree in computing or in a cognate area (STEM) who wish to develop a career as a cybersecurity professional in a technical role. This is a highly technical course requiring basic networking knowledge to ensure success. Candidates who do not hold a computing degree and are currently working in the IT sector may be considered based on relevant academic qualifications or extensive work experience.
