Job description

We’re recruiting for our next director of digital and information security.

Remote | £72,400 salary + 7% pension | Sector-leading benefits

This is a rare opportunity to join Open Briefing as a senior leader at a crucial time for civil society. As our new director of digital and information security, you’ll lead our digital risk and resilience programme – supporting civil society organisations, grassroots movements and activists around the world who are facing digital threats.

You’ll work closely with a thoughtful and experienced team to shape strategy, support consultants, improve systems and drive tech transformation across the organisation. You’ll also play a key role in ensuring Open Briefing continues to meet growing global demand for holistic security support.

We’re looking for someone with:

➔ A strong track record in digital and information security roles
➔ Experience in consultancy or advisory work
➔ An understanding of nonprofit and civil society spaces
➔ Excellent communication skills, especially across disciplines
➔ Experience managing teams and working collaboratively
➔ Based within UTC +/- 3 hours or able to work across core hours

Certifications

Essential

  1. You will be an experienced and empathetic leader or manager who values collaboration and teamwork.
  2. You will have a proven track record in digital and information security roles.
  3. You will have considerable digital and information security expertise and be able to communicate and apply that knowledge clearly, concisely, and effectively.
  4. You will have experience working with nonprofits and foundations and/or grassroots movements, organisations, and activists.
  5. You will have experience working in professional consultancy and advisory roles.
  6. You will be sensitive to the progressive and rights-based missions and diverse profiles of our clients and other stakeholders.
  7. You will have excellent written and spoken English.
  8. You will be based in a country with a time zone that is UTC +/- 3 hours or able to accommodate our core working hours.
